Passengers traveling on Hankyu Railway lines over the next few months may encounter some familiar faces on some of the trains. A Tom and Jerry train decorated with characters from the famous slapstick cartoon series is now running on the Kobe, Takarazuka and Kyoto lines!

Each of these lines now has its own Tom and Jerry train, with the characters featured throughout the train’s exterior and interior, and most prominently on an original headmark at the front of the train.

However, Tom and Jerry can be found all over the train — on the door exteriors, on posters inside the doors, on interior hanging posters, and even on the ceiling!

Stuffed toys of the cartoon characters wearing Hankyu uniforms can also be seen accompanying the driver in the window of the driver’s compartment!

The Tom and Jerry trains are part of a collaboration between Hankyu and the Tom and Jerry cartoon franchise celebrating the popular characters as they approach their 85th anniversary in 2025. The special trains began running on August 23rd and will continue until March 27, 2025.
Tom and Jerry x Hankyu stamp rally prizes
From September 4 until November 25, Hankyu will also be holding a stamp rally with a chance to win some special Tom and Jerry x Hankyu themed goods. Participants can receive stamp sheets at station information counters and then collect four stamps from any six of the decided stamp points along the lines.

And from September 11, some very cute Tom and Jerry x Hankyu goods will be available to buy from stores inside or near Hankyu and Hanshin railway stations. There will be a total of 25 Tom and Jerry themed goods, which will include mascot toys of Tom and Jerry dressed in Hankyu uniforms!

From September 4th, Tom and Jerry-themed food products will also be available from participating stores near stations along Hankyu Railway lines and at Hankyu Hanshin Hotels.

Decorated buses will also be running in the Amagasaki, Itami and Senri areas.
Headmarks for Nose Electric Railway trains
Trains on Nose Electric Railway in Hyogo Prefecture are also decorated with images from Tom and Jerry. And special one-day passes for Hankyu Railway, Hankyu Bus lines and Nose Electric Railway will go on sale from September 4th.
