New Wellness Hotel ReLabo Opens at Aomori Station

A new wellness hotel has opened at Aomori Station that offers its guests a choice of relaxation, rejuvenation, or a lifestyle transformation.

The hotel, ReLabo Medical Spa and Stay, opened on July 11 in the new JR Aomori Station East Exit Building with medical and wellness facilities operated by the Jikeikai Medical Corporation.

Guests staying at the new hotel can take part in yoga classes, enjoy massage treatments and hot spring baths at the hotel spa, exercise in the fully equipped fitness gym, take part in a fasting experience and practice mindfulness in meditation sessions.

Medical staff at the hotel offer medical and wellness consultations aimed at restoring both your body and mind. Physiotherapists can tailor exercise programs suitable for all ages while registered dietitians create personalized meal plans.

Shared natural hot spring and sauna facilities separated by gender are available on the 6th floor. Private onsen hot spring baths are also available. And in the spa, guests can enjoy traditional Sri Lankan Shirodhara oil pouring head therapy.

In the hotel restaurant top chefs have worked with medical professionals to create delicious and nutritious gastronomic meals using seasonal Aomori ingredients. And in the evening, guests can enjoy “health cocktails” in the hotel bar!

The hotel has 130 guest rooms with a variety of themes such as a “Creative” room aimed at business travelers, a “Zen” room with a contemporary wabi-sabi design, and a luxurious “Emperor” suite.

ReLabo Medical Spa and Stay, which claims to be Japan’s first wellness hotel, is located on the upper floors of the 10-story JR Aomori Station East Exit Building, with reception located on the 4th floor.

The new JR Aomori Station East Exit Building opened in April this year, and also contains a shopping mall, an art exhibition hall and an information center dedicated to the region’s famous Jomon era ruins.
