A New 24 Hour Ticket for Tokyo Metro

February 10, 2016

Tokyo Metro’s current 1-Day Open Ticket will be replaced by an even more convenient 24 Hour Ticket from Saturday March 26th.

Tokyo Metro’s current “1-Day Open Ticket” offers unlimited travel on all Tokyo Metro lines for just 600 yen for adults and 300 yen for children. This ticket’s period of validity is fixed by the first and last trains of the day it is purchased. So no matter what time you buy the ticket, whether it is 9:00 in the morning, or 5:00 in the afternoon, the ticket can only be used up until the last train of that day.

In addition Tokyo Metro is also making similar changes to the 1-Day, 2-Day and 3-Day Tokyo Subway Tickets which are currently on sale to overseas and domestic visitors to Tokyo. From March 26th the Tokyo Subway Ticket will be sold as a 24-hour ticket, 48-hour ticket and a 72-hour ticket. The period of validity for these tickets will be from the time of a passenger’s first train ride. All of these tickets can be bought in advance of the day they are used.

Tokyo Metro hopes that these new tickets will make it easier for passengers to enjoy evening and night time sightseeing, and fully experience the glamour and energy of the Tokyo metropolis.
