Izuhakone Railway Woos Anime Fans to Mishima City with “Love Live!” Train

Izuhakone Railway have joined forces with the popular “Love Live!” anime franchise to promote the latest “Love Live! Sunshine!!” TV series.

The TV show which is due to air in July of this year features a fictional group of school girls who form an “idol” group to save their school from closure. Many scenes in the show use the city of Numazu in Shizuoka for their setting, but part of the show also features the Sea Paradise aquarium in Mishima city.

Izuhakone Railway Anime Train

To coincide with the release of a pop single from the show this spring, Izuhakone Railway, began operating a special train decorated with a “Love Live! Sunshine!!” inspired train wrap. The train is running several round trips a day on Mishima city’s Sunzu Line until July.
