Passengers traveling between Narita Airport and central Tokyo now have a new option with the addition of a direct airport bus service for Ginza Station. The new service which runs directly to and from Ginza Station has been added to the TYO-NRT airport bus service that previously ran only to Ginza Station via Tokyo Station.
Keisei Bus at Narita Airport
While many of the TYO-NRT services that run via Tokyo Station to Ginza Station will continue, some of the services have now been made into direct services for Ginza Station, skipping Tokyo Station and providing a faster and more convenient transport option for Ginza-bound travelers.
The new bus service, which is jointly operated by Keisei Bus, JR Bus Kanto, and the Chiba-based transportation company B-Transse Holdings, began running on October 1st.
Ginza area is popular with foreign visitors
Ginza Station is a Tokyo Metro subway station located in the Ginza commercial district. The station serves the Ginza, Marunouchi and Hibiya lines and is actually one of the busiest of Tokyo’s subway stations. The new TYO-NRT direct airport bus service for Ginza Station has been added because of the high number of foreign visitors that use this station’s airport bus stop.
The total number of bus services running between Narita Airport and Ginza Station is now 70, with 39 departing from Narita Airport and 31 departing from Ginza. Of these 20 will be direct services for the Ginza Station stop: with 15 departing from Narita Airport and 5 from Ginza.
Three bus companies jointly operate TYO-NRT airport bus services
The airport bus fare between Ginza and Narita Airport is 1,500 yen for adults and 750 yen for children. Further details can be found on the TYO-NRT website.
